Uganda engages Syria to halt execution of convicted housemaid
The Ugandan government has confirmed that it is actively engaging Syrian authorities to secure the release of Vicky Ajok, a Ugandan housemaid in Syria who was recently convicted of murdering her employer and now faces execution.
Speaking to the press, Uganda’s Foreign Affairs State Minister, Mr. Henry Okello Oryem, revealed that discussions are ongoing with Syrian officials to find a way to prevent Ajok’s execution.
