The acting NRM registrar for Mbarara City, Patrick Kaweesi, has officially announced the winners of the woman city councillor primaries across several wards.

In Kamukuzi Ward, Mary Matsiko was declared the NRM flag bearer after securing 1,630 votes (44.2%), defeating incumbent Monica Mutabaruka, who garnered 771 votes (20.9%), and Barbra Rubabinda, who received 401 votes.

In Nyamityobora Ward, Flavia Kyomuhendo emerged victorious with 3,865 votes (60%), beating Jessica Byaruhanga, who polled 2,279 votes (40%).

For the lady councillor seat representing Nyakayojo and Ruti in Mbarara City South Division, Deputy Mayor Priscah Mulongo won with 7,321 votes (59%), ahead of Atukunda Annet, who collected 5,097 votes (41%).

Meanwhile, in the Katete and Kakoba Wards contest, Malina Salima, the current Deputy Speaker of Mbarara City South Division, was declared the winner with 6,201 votes (68.5%), defeating Doreen Natukunda, who got 2,857 votes (31%).
