The NRM Electoral Commission Chairman, Dr. Tanga Odoi, on Tuesday announced Ruteraho as the winner after she polled 67,459 votes, accounting for 46.1% of the total ballots cast. She beat five other contenders, including the incumbent MP Clare Mugumya, who managed only 13,351 votes (9.1%).
