A suspected suicide bombing near Munyonyo Martyrs’ Shrine on Tuesday morning has left two people dead, including the alleged female bomber, in a tragic incident that shook Uganda's annual Martyrs Day celebrations.

According to eyewitness reports and official sources, the explosion occurred just meters from the Munyonyo Martyrs’ Shrine, a major pilgrimage site, as thousands of Christian faithful gathered to pray.

Police confirmed that the bomb detonated before the woman could reach the shrine, suggesting that the explosion may have occurred prematurely. A motorcycle rider, believed to have been transporting the suspect, was also killed in the blast.
